The member organizations of our Alliance have spent over 25 years helping communities all over the world and make the world a better place. Volunteer Abroad Alliance is registered as a non-profit which means we do not employ a business model because doing good is not a business but a mission. We do not have any Western staff and our in-country teams are supported by our member organizations who are on a daily base are actively fundraising for the projects where our volunteers assist the local team members.
Our organizations’ mission is to have an impact on disadvantaged communities, financially in the first place volunteering came later.
The society of which we are all a part has evolved enormously over the past decades. In addition to an academic education, your personal development and social skills have also become extremely important. Respect for the other, tolerance, an open mind, these are values that can no longer be ignored from our current world view. it is our mission and responsibility to share our received opportunities with those who are withheld from these opportunities.
It is our mission to show you another culture its people, religion and complex situation in other countries so that in the future our volunteers get a broader world view with respect for every person on this planet.
Our mission is to change the face of volunteering. Our mission is not to become a travel agency and we do not believe in the term “voluntourism” because disadvantaged communities are not a tourist attraction
By working together we can become stronger and volunteers can commit to authentic, honest & transparent projects.
Through real development cooperation with different non-profits & NGO’s, we can spread the general costs across numerous projects and increase our volunteering audience, because interests differ from person to person. Volunteers also come into contact with a variety of non-profits & NGO’s, what they can talk about int their network. Example: the nurse who goes to South Africa with an organization active in health care also encounters an educational project from another organization in Laos and tells her friend who is a teacher.
There is a lot of interest in development cooperation, but many are skeptical about traditional development cooperation. Everyone wants to be able to participate in the field and become acquainted with the local problems.
Through volunteering you come into contact with a society that completely differs your own world. This not only gives you a different perspective on development cooperation, you also get a complete picture of a different culture of which you never expected to be that beautiful. Volunteering abroad in our alliance is the most obvious option to create a win-win situation for all parties.
It is our mission to show you another culture, its people, religion and complex situation in other countries so that in the future our volunteers get a broader world view with respect for every person on this planet.
Our mission is to change the face of volunteering. Our mission is not to become a travel agency and we do not believe in the term “voluntourism” because disadvantaged communities are not a tourist attraction. We believe strongly in ethical volunteer placements.
It is our mission to be responsible in everything. For us it is about more than just running volunteer programs. We work hard to create and run ethical projects that prioritize community needs. Our programs are designed to deliver sustainable value for communities and for the environment. It is also our mission in always doing the right thing and having a long-term mindset, and we work hard to ensure volunteers develop realistic expectations about the impact they’ll have.
