Volunteer Abroad

Never underestimate your power to improve someone else's life

lend us a hand and help build a better world

Volunteering abroad is a great way to spend your time, energy and money. Not only do you help to develop a country in need, but you also get a life-changing experience in return.

Volunteering abroad is very diverse and there are projects for everyone in which you can participate and provide a better future for the local community.

What is your favorite destination?

active in different continents

Volunteer Abroad Alliance operates on several continents and destinations. Our goal is to build a community of organizations and volunteers who support our projects in some of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Here you will find all our different destinations, and you can choose your preference. There is a volunteer experience for everyone. If it's too hard to choose, don't forget that you can always combine more than one destination to create your ultimate trip! In fact, once you join our Alliance, you have unlimited access to the projects you fit into.

In return for helping another community while volunteering abroad, as a volunteer you get a very rewarding experience as well as an opportunity to live and work abroad, learn the local language, participate in local customs or traditions and to travel. Many volunteers start out with little or no experience and return to their home countries with new skills, making them even more attractive for potential employers.

During your free time, you can also choose to travel and explore the area away from the beaten track. You can do this daily, after your workday, or you can take the time at the weekend to go on more extensive trips with other volunteers, the locals or alone, to more remote places. You can also choose to travel when your volunteer work is over, because you are in the area anyway.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people volunteer abroad and come back home with new skills, new friends and unforgettable memories. Being immersed abroad means you are likely to be exposed to new languages. As a volunteer, you are likely to speak English or another world language during working hours, but you also have a unique opportunity to learn the local language through interaction with locals, talking to your host family or taking classes.
