In Ghana, preschoolers don't start kindergarten until they are 4 years old. Before that, they often just stay at home. More and more schools and private initiatives have also been offering 'childcare' for several years now. Often they work with educators who are not qualified. Local educators are not always motivated or are sometimes not open to introducing new activities. They usually limit themselves to offering meals and toilet training the toddlers.
