You follow the progress of the sponsored children and report to their sponsors. You assist and inform the sponsored children and their families about the following (non-exhaustive) topics:

Healthy lifestyle

• More knowledge: children need to be equipped with information to make good choices. They may have no idea that a certain behavior is endangering their health. Different people and communities have different perceptions (and misconceptions) about health. By giving children the right information, you help them make healthy choices for a lifetime.
• Improved posture: all the information in the world does not help if children believe that behavioral change is important. We make sure that children and their parents see these issues as relevant to them.
• Increased self-reliance: ultimately, children must believe that they can develop healthier behaviors. Part of that comes down to designing interventions that work in their circumstances. Children gain the confidence and conviction to keep it up.

Use of health facilities

• Improved availability: children cannot use health services if they are not available at all. We make sure our kids can get close to providers when they're open and at times that work for our families.
• Improved affordability: our children live in poverty. We ensure that their financial circumstances do not hinder access to care.
• Increasing demand: once care is accessible, we try to get people to use it wannbefore they need it. We teach people where to find services and make sure they are happy with them.

Training

• Secondary education: we monitor the percentage of sponsored children who have reached this milestone.
• Increased school enrollment: we monitor the percentage of sponsored children enrolled in each level of formal and non-formal education.
• Improved performance of identified learning outcomes: we monitor the percentage of sponsored children who achieve minimum skill standards for their age or level.

Empowerment of children
Empowering children means equipping them with the skills, knowledge and social responsibility that will help them make change happen. To measure progress in this area, we use data collection and analysis to identify the percentage of youth with the ability to express their own opinion through active participation in their communities.
These intermediate steps help make that possible:

• Reinforced life skills, measured by the percentage of individuals who self-report a strong competency in the long list of essential life skills as defined by the World Health Organization.
• Increased social responsibility, measured by data identifying the percentage of individuals who self-report that they have strong competence in social responsibility.

Employment opportunities
Our focus on employment means we need to ensure that the teens in our program have adequate competitive job skills and access to employmentmarkt. We measure the number of teens in our program with:

• Improved skills, measured by the percentage of teens actively developing skills through college or vocational training programs. For younger teens, we measure enrollment. For young adults, we measure completion.
• Improved access to local labormarkt, measured by the percentage of program young people who demonstrate knowledge and skills to access employmentmarkt in their community.
