Paramedical Support

Healthcare and first aid are not as far away in Ghana as you are used to at home. That is why we offer paramedical support for those who do not have access to affordable healthcare.

You will work in various primary schools in Kpando within walking distance of your place of residence and in villages 4 to 10 km from Kpando.

You can also participate in the local hospital.

What are your duties?

We expect you to be able to offer wound care in the partner schools. You combine this with replenishing the first aid kits in the partner schools.

Depending on your specialty, you can provide information in the classes. We conduct several health screenings (BMI, blood pressure, glucose, Hep B, …) in one of the village communities in the Volta region.

You do the health screenings together with a local nurse.

Possible Challenges

Lack of (wound care) materials (eg use of honey).
The hygienic conditions are not what you are used to.

This project runs all year round. Your schedule is drawn up together with your mentor and can always be adjusted on arrival in function of your interests and competences.
