Like all group leaders, we are also committed to the personal development of young people. We want to help to expand their view of the world and take on their own future with our youth movement projects. We want to make young people aware of the other socially relevant themes that play beyond their own world of living. Participants learn not only to know a new culture, but they also learn to work in a group and personally experience how enriching it is to give others a better future.
Your members learn a lot about personal development, self-esteem, their language skills will improve, they learn to live and work in an international and intercultural environment, expanding their view of the world, putting their education in an international light, it is a preparation for a possible international career, … An international experience is undoubtedly also an extra asset to you when you start applying for work.
With years of experience in development cooperation, we believe that we are an interesting partner for your youth movement in developing a volunteer project abroad. A volunteer project project is a fully-fledged alternative to the traditional (summer) camp and can be combined with cultural excursions on the spot.
We believe that a volunteer project is an added value to several objectives of your youth movement.
The local population gets the most benefit from small-scale tourism.
Genuine discovery & meetings with the local community.
You only really get to know the local community by working together with them.
These camps usually take place during the traditional school holidays. This is a great opportunity for your group to provide an alternative holiday to the local children, teenagers and other youngsters because many school holidays at our destinations fall at the same time. An empty school or school site is perfect to organize activities for children and teenagers.
Your group can organize fun activities with the local children and teenagers so they come into contact with peers from another part of the world. Your group can prepare activities to play with local children and let them enjoy games they never heard of.
If there are any local youth leaders then you even can prepare these games together with them or with the person in charge of the project. Preparing the activities together with your local peers provides a long-term win-win situation because the local youth leaders learn other activities that they can provide to other members in their community.
Sufficient flexibility is provided, meaning you also have the opportunity to organize your traditional activities for your own group. These can be traditional youth activities, trekking, but it also possible to undertake cultural excursions in the area. In this way, your group not only comes in contact with the problems that the local population daily encounters but also has the opportunity for some sightseeing.
We are flexible on details like budget, duration, itinerary, start and end dates, trip theme, etc. Our only requirement is that you recruit at least ten people to be on your team – this can include a mix of students, teachers and parents. Each group does provide at least 1 adult accompanying 10 minors.
We have two programs which easily can be customized to your liking. This allows you to rebuild more leisure time or activities provided by us.
We do not exclude anyone, and want to give each type of youth movement a chance to get to know another culture. At the participants we only ask a good basic condition and mental health.
You come to places where you live in primitive conditions and the different climate. Your project work is tailored to your physical possibilities. It’s not a very tough trip but you have to take into account that it’s not a typical tourist trip.
As a youth movement you determine the group composition yourself.
Our team members are already active for years in development aid so you can rely on years of experience.
We do not believe in voluntourism. Volunteers are not tourists. Volunteers expect to serve, tourists expect to be served.
