Guidance for people with a mental disability

The “Special Needs School” offers accommodation and care for about 30 young people and young adults with a mental disability.
The main aim of the school is to teach daily skills and independence. In general, few activities are organized for young people.

What are your duties?

As a supervisor you help with:

Teaching motor and vocational skills;
Differentiating (individual approach);
Coaching local counselors.

Conditions of Participation

Knowledge of the English language.
The necessary international and intercultural competences:
- communicative and language skills

- showing respect
- able to deal with diversity
Demonstrate the following professional attitudes:

- Relationship attitude
- Critical attitude

Possible Challenges

Passivity of the teachers.
The periods of the activities are limited to 15 minutes, which makes it difficult to fully work out an activity.

You work from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 13 pm

School holidays:

3 weeks of Christmas (last 2 weeks of December and 1st week of January);
3 weeks of Easter holidays (last 2 weeks of April and 1st week of May);
Big holidays (August and first two weeks of September).
